The Andover Arms in Hammersmith
Really great pub - lovely beer - hidden Hammersmith gem
Location: 57 Aldensley Road, W6 0DL
Description: Now this is a very nice pub. Dropping in recently on a late Saturday afternoon to watch some Rugby, I was met with a proper old London pub that just had that something.
Well looked after with lots of wood and soft seats, it sort of had that classic pub look that makes you feel good about life and think...'yes, I think I'll stay here'.
It was also quite quiet - a hidden gem me thinks - with great real ale, ready salted crisps (always a must) and a very pleasant atmosphere - if only I knew about it when I was walking along the Uxbridge Road in the rain - still I did find it in the end.
It even had those fantastic old shutters on the bar which - when sat at the bar - at about head height, and allow you to open and close as and when you fancy another glass. A bit of 'days gone by' but very good all the same.
Highly recommended this one - it's somewhere between the Goldhawk Road and Hammersmith - in the middle there somewhere. Go find!
