Old Retail and plenty of Tea
London's oldest shop with a narrow story to tell
Location: 216 The Strand, WC2R 1AP
Description: What a way to mark London's oldest shop...but with a door decoration in a class of it's own. And so to 'R. Twinning & Co' on the Strand which has been dealing tea and all things drinkable (well pretty much) since 1706.
The shop has been in this building since 1787 and the ornate looking entrance with the golden lion and two Chinese tea merchants is also said to be the capital's narrowest...not sure about that mind.
Above all tea is sold and tea is great and the entrance is a sight to be seen - now go find.
