Orphaned Boys make a Stand
Named after distinctive green coats worn by the kids
Location: 2 Greencoat Place, Victoria, SW1P 1PJ
Description: Now this pub is steeped in history and rightly so.
The building itself was an old hospital that housed the Greencoat Boys (hence the name - 'The Greencoat Boys')that were orphaned when their fathers were killed in the wars in and around the 1600s.
Opened by Charles I in 1633, the then hospital was a haunted place with the Greencoat Ghost running around at night - the ghost it seems lives on and can often be found propping up the bar.
