Spend a Night as a Kray
Bow Street Magistrates makes way for a criminal hotel stay
Location: 28 Bow Street, WC2E 7AS
Description: Back in July 2006, the BBC news read... 'Casanova, the Kray twins, Oscar Wilde, Dr Crippen, the Pankhursts and Lord Archer have all been reluctant visitors. But this week the historic Bow Street Magistrates' Court closes its doors after some 270 years, to be turned into a hotel'.
And so today - October 2008 - the hotel development that offers guests the chance to spend the night in former police cells has been approved.
The conversion of Bow Street Magistrates Court will enable tourists to sleep in a building that housed a multitude of prisoners - from the foppish but superb Oscar to the grizzly Kray Twins... even Pete Doherty.
As a 76 bedroom establishment to be, the hotel will also allow for an interactive museum with displays telling the story of Bow Street. Time to make a booking then!
