Dicken's Mr. Pickwick stayed here throughout his court hearing.

Location: 3 Castle Court, London, EC3V 9DL

Description: The George and Vulture, formerly Thomas's Chop House is where Dicken's Mr Pickwick stayed during the hearing of Bardell v Pickwick.

It's also where the infamous `Hellfire Club` started, in the late 17th Century. In 1746, Sir Francis Dashwood founded his Order of the Knights of St Francis and they initially met in a room here dominated by 'an everlasting Rosicrucian lamp'.

It's now a restaurant.
