Bar Italia

Immortalised in 1995 'Pulp' track, open 24 hours a day

Location: 22 Frith Street, Soho, W1D 4RP

Description: And here's to 'Bar Italia' - it's celebrating its 60th anniversary year in 2010 - and it's still as great as ever!

As Soho's all-night favourite since 1949, you can of course get great Italian coffee and great food to match.

It was opened by Lou and Caterina Polledri who had already been running a cafe nearby.

If you visit don't miss their 50 year old vintage Gaggia coffee machine is still going strong!

Italian footie on TV and it will be absolutely packed, but apart from that, pull up a chair and celebrate all things Italian in London.

And now to a Soho media fact: The blue plaque above celebrates that John Logie Baird first demonstrated television here in 1926.
