Elstree's The Red Lion
An old drinking haunt for Laurence Harvey and Richard Harris
Location: 213 Shenley Road, Borehamwood, WD6 1TE
Description: Laurence Harvey and Richard Harris drank in here every lunchtime during the filming of The Long and the Short and the Tall in 1960.
The Red Lion pub has since closed and has been turned into a McDonald's restaurant.
When the building was a pub, it was the haunt of many a film star including Tony Hancock when he was filming in Borehamwood.
Today, as a McDonald's restaurant, it is now the haunt of members of the Big Brother eviction night crowds who attend the broadcasts at Elstree Studios across the road.
