Bizarre Cast Iron Public Toilets

Bizarre Cast Iron Public Toilets

Street side Victorian urinals for men on the move.

Location: Star Yard, Holborn

Description: These ornate and much-overlooked cast iron public lavatories in the Parisian style are vertical flushable cubicles and were introduced by George Jennings in 1851.

No longer in active use, they did have the amazing ability for gentleman users to continue a conversation with a girlfriend on the outside while doing their business!
