The Last of the Great Exhibition

This is the last grand statement from the 1851 Great Exhibition.
Location: Coalbrookdale Gate, Kensington Gardens
Description: Coalbrookdale Gate was made in 1851 for the Great Exhibition at Crystal Palace by the Coalbrookdale Company of Shropshire. They originally stood inside the palace.
There aren't many fine examples of what the Great Exhibition stood for - it's grand opulance and statement of the British Empire's wondrousness. But this is one that still stands in all weathers, a little forgotten piece of the Victorian landscape.
It was then moved to this spot after the Exhibition ended.
It marks the boundary between Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, adjacent to the Albert Memorial.
