The Builders Arms and Tunnel

The Builders Arms and Tunnel

The pub that has a tunnel to the local church.

Location: 13 Britten Street, Chelsea, SW3 3TY

Description: This pleasant little gastro pub in Chelsea (not to be confused with the one in nearby Kensington) is a lovely place to acquaint yourself with good English pub food.

It dates back to being opened and built as a boozer by a local builder called George Todd in April 1841.

It's secret is that the builder's of St Luke's Church a street away built a tunnel directly here so they could quench their thirst while they built the church.
