Celebrated public school for the famous.
Location: Southside, Wimbledon Common, SW19 4TT
Description: King's College School opposite WImbledon Common is one of the top college's in London with a long list of famous and celebrated alumni.
In music scholars here included Michael Nyman, John Deacon from Queen, Marcus Mumford & Ben Lovett from Mumford and Sons plus Matt Owens from Noah and the Whale.
In politics alumni include Lord David Owen and the current prime minister of Jordan Marouf al-Bakhit.
Napolon, Prince Imperial, the only child of Emperor Napoleon III of France and his Empress consort Eugnie de Montijo, attended here before his untimely death in Africa.
Bishop Desmond Tutu is one of the College's most distinguished relgiious alumni which also includes more than 10 further Bishops in the UK.
In the arts, authors Sir Arthur C. Clarke, C. S. Forester, Alain de Botton, Sir Walter Besant, Sir W. S. Gilbert, Thomas Hardy, John Keats, Charles Kingsley, W. Somerset Maugham, Michael Morpurgo, John Ruskin and Virginia Woolf attended KCS.
Other noteds include Rory Bremner, Sue Carpenter, Quentin Crisp, Derek Jarman, Boris Karloff, Sir Allan Powell, Sir Charles Wyndham, David Bellamy, and Henry Marc Brunel.
