Lillie Langtry's Love Pad
Knightsbridge's most infamous love nest.
Location: 37 Ovington Square, Knightsbridge
Description: This plush 1850's period pad was King Edward VII's mistress - turned actress Lillie Langtry's, lovenest.
Later it was home to brilliant harpsichordist and clavichordist Violet Gordon Woodhouse, who was hardly less celebrated for her love affairs, from 1913 to 1917. She was famous for insisting new husband slept in a separate room, and then moving boyfriends into other rooms to live. This became known as the 'Woodhouse circus'.
