Location: Chalk Farm Road, London, NW1 8EH

Description: The Roundhouse is a historic steam engine repair building that became a legendary venue in the 1960s and 70s. This is where punk and glam rock started, where The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd made their names and The Doors played their only UK gig. It hosted the most spectacular and controversial theatrical performances of its day including works by Peter Brook and the Living Theatre from New York.

1» Too many stories to put up at once! The Implosions starting on Sunday afternoons were my favourites, I went to so many and I dont think I ever once paid to get in. I was mostly backstage or upstairs at parties. One of the stewards later became my daughters godfather in the late 70s. I also was at the Doors gig, and I remember the Who and Elton John, Rod Stewart, Vinegar Joe, Pink Fairies, Pretty Things, Floyd (with Syd), Camden Festivals (notably 1972) countless others - will post them as I remember!
