Sir Hugh Myddelton's Statue

Sir Hugh Myddelton's Statue

Look up - he gave London its water supply - top statue

Location: Threadneedle Street, EC3

Description: If you stand with your back to the Bank of England in Threadneedle Street, between the bus stop and the Royal Bank of Scotland, you will notice two separate figures above the row of shops along the side wall of the Royal Exchange. They look to be larger than life-size, but are easily missed by people walking past in the street below. Have a gander at Hugh, the man who gave the City its water supply when the original sources were too polluted to be of use... erected in 1844.
