12 Bar Club

12 Bar Club

One of the smallest and most intimate music venues in London.

Location: Denmark Street, London, WC2H 8NL

Description: Situated in London's music capital - 'Tin Pan Alley' aka Denmark Street, this is one of the smallest live music venues in London.

The club is located in a building built in 1635 as stables then later converted to a forge for the St. Giles area up until World War I after which it became a carpenter's shop until just after World War II when it was then used as store rooms.

In the 1980's, Andy Preston of Andy's Guitar Centre which is situated next to the building turned it into 'The Forge Folk & Blues Club', originally as a social club for the staff of the guitar centre to have somewhere to play but as word spread it became popular.

In 1994 the venue expanded and became the 12 Bar Club.

Tours: Libertines, Oasis, Alcohol.
