Colonel Elliott's Magic Home

Colonel Elliott's Magic Home

Scene of Colonel Eliott's public humiliation of Lady Waghorn.

Location: 54 Welbeck Street, London

Description: This is where Lieutenant Colonel Robert Elliot, a retired eye surgeon and member of the Magic Circle lived.

And it was here that he humiliated Lady Waghorn in order to discredit her testimony that she had seen the miraculous indian rope trick performed some years earlier.

This was in 1926, when the West was enthralled with the idea that there were real magicians doing tricks unknown to the West.

Lady Waghorn was one of the many eyewitness reports that were hounded into discredit by the Magic Circle.
