City Hall
Former home of the GLA and London mayor.
Location: 110 The Queen's Walk, Southwark, SE1 2AA
Description: The home of the Greater London Assembly and the mayor from July 2002 to December 2021, City Hall was emblematic of modern thinking.
Its glassy facade represents democratic openness - but in fact looks like a massive safety helmet or drunk snail - it even uses water from its own well; even its unusual shape is designed to reduce surface area and improve energy efficiency.
Currently owned by a Kuwait Consortium.
