Description: Indeed, London is Britain's most densely populated gastropub area with 48 establishments (@ Sept 2006) -one in ten of these are recomended.

Chelsea seems to be the heart of this new wave with nine pubs in the guide - 'The Michelin Guide' - but it seems that the cost of a good meal is the problem. Infact, these gastropubs are becoming so expensive they are actually restaurants in disguise.

'The Admiral Codrington' in SW3 is just one of this special new breed and would seem worthy of a visit if only for the name of the pub alone.
