Eric's First London Digs
Eric Sykes - lenendary comic - first London address.
Location: Longridge Road, Earls Court, SW5
Description: Eric Sykes, one of England's legends in the comedy world once resided on this very street.
After growing up in Oldham, 36 Leslie Street to be exact, growing up and then going into the forces during World War II, his big break came when he got into script writing and pencilled some quirky copy for the one and only Frankie Howerd.
At two pounds and ten shillings a week, a washbasin and single bed were included but alas, the bathroom was two floors down.
