The Nag's Head
An old coaching Inn that back to the early 19th century
Location: 53 Kinnerton St, Belgravia, SW1X 8ED
Description: This pub dates back to the early 19th century when the huge houses of Belgravia were built. This mews was where the horses and carriages were kept and where the footmen and stable-hands lived and cared for the horses - the pub was for them.
DJ Chris Evans lists it as his favourite pub and wrote in his autobiography ...originally an old spit and sawdust bar in the early 1800s frequented by stable boys and stable girls who looked after the horses of the upper classes. Now it is mostly frequented by unstable boys and unstable girls who can barely look after themselves.
