Description: And so it was - the unfortunate and sad events that took place on Tuesday 27th February 2007 in the early hours of the morning...12.50am.

The historic Soho restaurant which has served some of the biggest names in showbiz was destroyed by fire. 106 years old and a legend on Wardour Street, this amazing place was a popular haunt in the 1960s with a visitors book that boasts names as enigmatic as Richard Burton, Michael Caine, Alec Guinness, Sean Connery, Ringo Starr, Dudley Moore and the brilliant Peter Cook.

Amazing things must come to an end... until they are rekindled and restored - here's hoping they make good what once was.
