Poitier's Favourite Restaurant
Michael Caine and Sidney Poitier used to dine here
Location: 27 Devonshire Street, W1G 6PL
Description: Looking more like an auction house than a restaurant, 'Odin's Restuarant', a Marylebone stalwart remains hugely popular with the areas older locals, who have been flocking here since it first opened over four decades ago.
Shielded from prying eyes by the curtained frontage, diners sit among a vast collection of huge gilt-framed paintings, its a cosseted space that positively encourages long lunches & dinners.
And back in 1973 it wasn't much different.
Then it was a favourite meeting place for Michael Caine and his wife Shakira and Sidney Poitier and his wife Joanna - infact it was Poitier's favourite restaurant in London - and the foursome spent many a happy time dining here.
