Location: 76 Quilter Street, Bethnal Green, E2 7BT

Description: This is the Victorian terraced house that Cynthia Rose Purley (Brenda Blethyn) lived in in the film Secrets and Lies. It formed the backdrop to some of the most dramatic scenes in Mike Leigh's 1996 film about a black optometrist who discovers her birth mother is a white working class woman.

Secrets and Lies also starred Timothy Spall and Phyllis Logan. The film won numerous other awards, including the Palme d'Or, and received five Academy Award nominations.
