The Crown and Hickford Rooms
The famous pub on the site of a Mozart performance.
Location: 64 Brewer Street, Soho, W1F 9TP
Description: Today a busy pub, The Crown was formerly called The Hickford Rooms, once the biggest concert hall in London. So big in fact in the 18th century that Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart gave a recital here in 1765, aged just nine, to a crown including European royalty.
Note the elaborately worded plaque on the corner facing of the pub.
