Home to a Layer Cake
The cult 2004 movie was filmed in part here
Location: 7 Queen's Gate Mews, Kensington, SW7
Description: 'Layer Cake' was a 2004 British gangster thriller, directed by Matthew Vaughn.
It is based on the novel Layer Cake by J. J. Connolly. Since star Daniel Craig's rise to fame in Casino Royale, the film has started to amass a cult following.
The title refers to the human social strata, especially in the British crime underworld, as well as the numerous plot layers in the film.
And so to this spot...
Daniel Craig (the character remains unnamed throughout the movie) lives at 7 Queen's Gate Mews, Kensington. The mews has already featured in two screen classics: it's not only where the unfortunate chauffeur gets his head shaved in Nic Roeg-Donald Cammell's Performance, but was also the location for the video of Benny Hill's Ernie, Fastest Milkman in the West.
Oh, and that flat used to belong to Guy Ritchie.
