Finsbury Health Centre

The most iconic GP's surgery in the UK.
Location: 17 Pine Street, London, EC1R 0LP
Description: This now threatened building (there's a campaign to save it) was designed by Berthold Lubetkin and Tecton in 1938 is the most iconic GP's surgery in the UK.
It is the most evident outpost of Soviet socialist thinking and revolutionary Constructivist design this side of Moscow.
With its low-lying structure, outstretched wings and translucent lobby, the Finsbury Health Centre, is also the gentlest, most subtle representative of a social and architectural dream designed to lift some of London's poorest people into a world free of TB, rickets, lice and squalor.
