A Distinctive Tune in Tooting
Station made famous by the unique band 'Kitchens of Distinction'
Location: Tooting High Street, SW17 0SU
Description: 'Tooting Broadway Station' sits on this very spot, and is a very useful Northern Line Underground station.
But that's not all...
It is imortalised in a song by the fabulously named - 'Kitchens of Distinction' (sometimes shortened colloquially to KOD) - who were a three-person alternative rock/dream pop band who formed in the area.
They recorded 'On Tooting Broadway Station' on their 1992 album The Death of Cool. Going on to produce four studio albums and a handful of singles and EPs before disbanding in 1996.
