Harrods

Harrods

Harrods is an upmarket department store in central London.

Location: 87-135 Brompton Road, Knightsbridge, SW1X 7XL

Description: Harrods is a huge upmarket department store, probably the best known of all London stores.

The store occupies an unmissable 5-acre site in Kensington and has over one million square feet of selling space in over 330 departments. Double it's largest rival, Selfridges.

Several of its departments, including the seasonal Christmas department and the Food Hall, are world famous.

Throughout its history, the store has had a total of five owners. On 8 May 2010, Fulham FC owner Mohamed Al-Fayed sold the store to Qatar Holdings for £1.5 billion.

Al Fayed is father to the late Dodi Al Fayed who died in a car crash in Paris with Princess Diana. Harrods had a shrine to them for many years afterwards.

The Harrods motto is Omnia Omnibus Ubique—All Things for All People, Everywhere.
