The home at the heart of the Profumo Scandal.

Location: 17 Wimpole Mews, Paddington

Description: Dr Stephen Ward, a London osteopath and friend of 21 year old call girl Christine Keeler. He was highly successful having treated Sir Winston Churchill, Paul Getty, Douglas Fairbanks and Elizabeth Taylor.

He installed Keeler here in his former flat and then she later had an affair with the Secretary of State for War, resulting in John Profumo's resignation, and one of the hottest scandal's of the 20th century in Great Britain.

Dr Ward has been charged with living on the earnings of prostitution at 17 Wimpole Mews since 1 January 1961.

On the last day of the trial on 31 July 1963, Ward took an overdose of sleeping tablets. He was found guilty while in a coma and died three days later.
