Description: The whiter than white Grade 2 listed Anglesea Arms is 2 doors down from where Charles Dickens once resided (he lodged in number 11 in 1835), and is one of his old haunts.
The beautiful traditional pub was originally a market garden and nursery dating back to 1712.
In the summer of 1914, the great novelist DH Lawrence was resident at number 9, and married mother of 3 Frieda Weekley while living here. He is undoubtedly a former drinker here.
