This is where the father of science fiction was born.

Location: Atlas House, 46 High Street, Bromley

Description: In 1866, youngest of four children, Bertie was born here, to professional cricketer and shopkeeper Joseph Wells. They had a crockery shop here (where Primark is now) once, and the family lived upstairs.

He grew up to become one of the most famous and influential science fiction authors of all time - HG Wells.

His most notable science fiction works include The War of the Worlds, The Time Machine, The Invisible Man, and The Island of Doctor Moreau.
