Description: Thomas Paine wrote Rights of Man in 1791 this local Islington pub. Both the French and American constitutions are based upon it, and it was a response to Reflections on the Revolution in France by Edmund Burke.

He was an intellectual, scholar, revolutionary, pamphlett writer, and idealist, and is widely recognized as one of the Founding Fathers of the United States.
