Dick Turpin's Final Pub
Dick Turpin stayed the night here en route to his capture.
Location: 762 High Road, Leytonstone, London, E11 3AW
Description: The original pub The Green Man (now known as O'Neills), beside the Green Man roundabout, is mentioned in documents dated 1668. It used to be on the site of the Numast building next door. The current pub was built circa 1900 and has quite unusual chimneys.
It's reputed that on his way to Norwich (and his subsequent capture and hanging) highwayman Dick Turpin stayed the night here.
