So Why New Scotland Yard?

So Why New Scotland Yard?

Named after original headquarters situated in Scotland Yard

Location: Victoria Street, SW1H 0BG

Description: The modern headquarters of the Metropolitan Police Force in Victoria Street is usually referred to as 'New Scotland Yard'... but why?

Well - because the original headquarters were situated in Scotland Yard, so named from the fact that the Kings of Scotland, from Saxon times, had their lodgings in this part of the old Whitehall Palace.
