The Camden Markets

Camden Town Market is famous the world over - six busy markets.

Location: Camden Lock Place, NW1

Description: Camden Town Market is famous the world over - six busy open-air and indoor markets, each with its own distinctive flavour, line a street of shops, bars and restaurants in Camden Town, North West London.

It's the 4th most visited tourist attraction with about 500,000 a week.

The market area was first developed in 1791 and became the first official Camden market in 1974.

A huge blaze broke out on a market stall on 7th October 1980 destroying part of the market, and another devastating blaze took hold on 10th February 2008.

DJ Chris Evans famously had a stall here in 2004 to sell off sofas and TV's after his split from Billie Piper.
