The Boxpark is a popup retail centre in East London.

Location: Bethnal Green Road

Description: Boxpark is a pop-up mall or retail outlet based in an old disused railway goods yard at Shoreditch. It's a 4.7 hectare site that has been unused for over 40 years and lies between the neighbourhoods of Shoreditch,
Spitalfields.

The developers say it has the
potential to deliver up to 2000 new homes, office space for both large organisations and startup enterprises, retail and leisure facilities, and up to 1.7 hectares of new public open space.

It's basis is that it strips and refits shipping containers to create unique, low cost, low risk box shops for a unique mix of international fashion, arts and lifestyle brands, galleries and cafs.

It's radical and it's due to open in August 2011.
