Description: Arsenal midfield hardman Peter Storey bought this local pub after his retirement from football in 1978. It was then called The Jolly Farmers (and formerly called The Northgate and The Dog & Dumplings).

In 1979, he was fined for running a brothel, and the pub was shortly after targeted by serious criminals and he ended up getting himself involved with a counterfeiting jewellery and cash ring run by gangsters The Barry Brothers.

When all were caught he served a three-year prison term for that, and found himself in the dock again for running a brothel called the Calypso massage parlour in Leyton High Street and was convicted of smuggling hard-core porn into Britain in the spare tyre of his Jeep.
