David Jason's Childhood Home
This is where actor David Jason's childhood home was.
Location: 26 Lodge Lane, Finchley
Description: This is where actor David Jason's childhood home used to be (now it's where the entrance to the car park is).
Open All Hours, Frost and Only Fools and Horses legend Jason recalled in his autobiography My earliest memories of our tiny terraced house are of hearing thunder, and feeling the walls shake and the floor tremble. When I fearfully asked my mother what was happening, she held me close and said: Its nothing to worry about. Its just God moving his furniture around. It was actually Hitler moving London around.
He was born David John White, one of twins, here in 1940. Sadly twin Jason didn't survive the first 2 weeks and passed before the births had been registered. His stage name had already been taken (when he tried to register with Equity) so he made a lifelong tribute to his late brother in his stage name.
