Description: One of the largest establishments of the kind in London, it is here that the farewell dinners given by the East India Company to their Governors of India are generally given; and also here that the annual trade sales of principal London publishers take place.
It's an old tavern, having been in use since at least 1790.
The menu for a dinner held in 1884 is as follows:

- Escallopes de Ris de Veau aux Petit Pois
- Poulet a l'Eclarte
- Chines of Mutton
- Ham and Salad
- Ducklings, Goslings, Asparagus

- Ratafia Creams, Compotes of Oranges
- Ice Pudding
The tavern was closed after the war.
