The 32 million quid Boozer

The 32 million quid Boozer

The most expensive pub in the world

Location: 15 Westferry Road, E14 8JH

Description: Such a shame... an East London boozer has been sold to developers for 32 million quid...making it the most expensive pub in the world.

'The City Pride' in Docklands will be knocked down to make way for a 60-storey tower including a five-star hotel and 400 apartments. But local people - and rightly so - are fuming at the decision to call last orders at this pub which the BBC even use during the London Marathon.

Local Chef Jim Fry exemplifies the no-nonsense passion of local people... 'I'm sick of decent pubs closing to make way for posh hotels and fancy gastropubs - all I want after work is a quiet drink with my mates with some peanuts and pork scratchings... not paninis and sun-dried tamotoes!'

Of course you can't help but agree with him. The pub was built in the 1950s to serve workers but is now very popular with local and workers alike.

Save the City Pride - you know it makes sense!
