Eurythmics first met here

Eurythmics first met here

This is where Annie Lennox waitressed when Dave Stewart came in.

Location: 83-84 Hampstead High Street, Hampstead, NW3 1RE

Description: This was formerly called Pippin, the first ever vegetarian restaurant in Hampstead. In the sixties and seventies it attracted a creative, artistic clientele such as Bronco John, Peter Cook's homeless chat partner.

Musician, and one-time Joe Strummer collaborator, Pablo Cook managed Pippin in 1981-82.

In mid 1976, a young Annie Lennox took a job as a waitress at Pippins Restaurant and it was here that she would meet her future Eurythmics partner Dave Stewart.

Before Pippin's, it was called Cyrano's. Other frequenters included Peter O'Toole, Marty Feldman and Peter Sellers.

Used to frequent Cyranos in the 70s. I once went in with my bass guitar and my friend on lead guitar and set up an amplifier, got up on the table and played bringing loads of people in off the street. We got free cake for that! Thats the sort of place it was! (David Sumeray)
