Dandelion Sculpture
200 used fizzy drink bottles creating a touch of beauty
Location: Palace Street
Description: During Arts Week 2010 at Westminster City School, Year 7 pupils worked with 'Arts Republic' to create a dandelion wind sculpture.
The dandelion is made of over 200 reused plastic fizzy drinks bottles. This eye-catching project taught our pupils about wind turbine energy and the sculpture brings together art, science and the environment.
It has been made to catch the wind and its translucent qualities project colour in every direction as the sculpture turns in the wind. It can be seen on the roof of our new school building here on Palace Street in Westminster.
