The Marquee Club

This is where the notorious Marquee Club used to be, cult venue.
Location: 90 Wardour Street, Soho, London, W1F 0TJ
Description: The Marquee Club was a London cult musical landmark during the '60s and '70s, and the name was a legend in itself. The Wardour Street venue closed in 1996, having hosted some of the biggest names and most exciting bands of the last three decades.
The Rolling Stones played their first gig from the previous location, and legends from U2, Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie to Pink Floyd have graced its stage.
The Who famously trashed their gear there, the Sex Pistols were banned for doing the same after their first proper London gig.
It became notorious as a secret venue for top acts, with them playing under pseudonyms, such as Iron Maiden appearing as A Fun Night With The Entire Population of Hackney.
The venue also prominently featured in the 1983 video for the Wham! single I'm Your Man.
