HM Treasury VE Day Room at GOGGS

The room that Churchill celebrated VE Day from.
Location: 1 Horse Guards Road, London
Description: This is GOGGS, Government Offices, Great George Street, a disappointing acronym. It was designed by John McKean Brydon in 1898 and built over the next 20 years. It was loosely based on Inigo Jones unbuilt designs for Whitehall Palace from 1638.
It originally housed the Board of Education and other departments, but has been home to the Treasury since 1940. It was grade 2 listed in 1970.
The second floor room at the front is the room that Winston Churchill famously celebrated VE Day from.
