Wedding Cake With A History

St Bride's Fleet Street inspired the 1st tiered wedding cake.
Location: St Bride's, Fleet Street, EC4Y 8AU
Description: Have you ever wondered what was the inspiration for the very first tiered wedding cake baked by Mr Rich, a Fleet Street pastry cook, for the wedding of his daughter in the earth 19th Century?
Well look no further than Fleet Street itself and the tiered spire of St Bride's, rebuilt by Christopher Wren after the Great Fire.
Indeed, if you were to cover this spire in lashings of white icing...it would be good enough to eat!
