Description: So, 'Heathrow Airport', branded 'not fit for purpose' (Aug 2008) is the UKs busiest airport, in fact the world's third busiest airport for passenger traffic.

Heathrow is owned and operated by BAA and taking a battering at this time based on the fact that travelling from and to the facility is frankly dreadful... well most of the time.

But there are some telling facts that sort of help its current precarious situation (as at Aug 2008):

1. It handles 68 million passengers a year
2.481,000 aircraft movements a year take place and it is used by more than 90 airlines
3. It has two parallel runways and five terminals
4. It was used by the RAF during the war and was opened for civilian use on the 31 May 1946.

So with all this mind - you decide - Heathrow Airport.... CRAP or GREAT?
