Description: Now this eccentric old pub - 'The Montague Arms' - really does deserve it's title of 'Best Pub in Britain', topping the list in 'The Rough Pub Guide: A Celebration of the Great British Boozer'.
With it's bizarre decor from a human skeleton to an embalmed zebra peering out of a horse-drawn carriage (we kid you not), this fantastic place has been run by landlord Peter Hoyle since 1967, when it was full of 'gangsters' before Peter reinvented the pub as a community local with live music.
Well the man did well and this pub really is what London boozers are all about - special places to savour full of style and substance.
Good work Mr Hoyle and well done!
