King's Speech Logue's Home

This is where speech sessions for King George VI took place.

Location: 30 Bolton Gardens, South Kensington, SW5 0AQ

Description: This was the South Kensington home where Harley Street speech therapist Lionel Logue gave private sessions to King George VI. As depicted in the 2011 oscar-winning film The King's Speech, Australian Lionel's unorthodox methods helped cure King George VI of his stammer.

Logue, who set up his Harley Street practice in 1924 and died in London in 1953, was played by Geoffrey Rush in The King's Speech which won four Oscars including Best Film and Best Actor for its star Colin Firth.

In October 2010 English Heritage rejected appeals for a blue plaque to be placed here.
