A Renowned Spring Fair
'Mayfair' - named after a disreputable Spring Fair
Location: Mayfair, London, W1V
Description: Very close to Hyde Park Corner, in fact North-East as the crow flies is the fashionable area that has it's roots in the past, in fact it was named after a disreputable Spring Fair that used to be held there.
'Mayfair' was home to a fair that began on May 1st and went on for 15 days, it was closed down in 1764 after residents complained about the blatant disregard for decent behaviour and the abundance of whores and tomfoolery...So now you know.
