This was the house that Shakespeare's bought in 1613.
Location: Ireland Yard, Blackfriars, London
Description: William Shakespeare bought the gate house here in 1613 for £140. After having lodged near the globe previously, when it burnt down, everything moved to Blackfriars.
Ben Jonson had a house here and painter Van Dyck lived here between 1632-41.
Shakespeare died 3 years after buying it, and it passed to his daughter Elizabeth who sold it in 1667.
